HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador to Thailand, said that the State of Qatar, according to the wise vision of 2030, laid down by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, is keen to diversify investments and sources of income both at home and abroad.

He noted that the Thai private sector is welcome in the State of Qatar to obtain and participate in the economic benefit provided by the State of Qatar to investors. This came as His Excellency attended the signing of the strategic partnership agreement between Retaj Hotels and Hospitality and the Thai Group “Taj Hana”.

Dr. Mohamed Bin Johar Al Mohamed, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Retaj Group and Mr. Luqman Nani, Managing Director of Taj Hana Group signed the strategic partnership, at Al Meroz Hotel in the Thai Capital, Bangkok, in the presence of H.E. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, Former Deputy Prime minister and former President of Parliament as well as many officials from the two leading groups. as well as more than 200 academics and investors in hotel tourism sector in addition to land owners and medical tourism experts.
This came as a part of Retaj overseas expansion plan and global strategy as one of the leading Hotels and Hospitality companies In the Middle East and GCC region, according to which Taj Hana will provide more than 27 hotels for Retaj Hotels & Hospitality to operate over the next five years in key locations in the Far East region, the most important of which are Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and China, Retaj is aiming to provide Halal and authentic Arabian hospitality to the Arabian and Gulf tourists and investors as well as from various nationalities visiting the Far East countries. The two groups also signed a partnership agreement whereby Retaj Hotels and Hospitality will offer Taj Hana SPA brand, in all Retaj new hotels, allowing Retaj Guests to enjoy the international SPA experience and renowned Thai treatments of the Taj Hana.

HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Thailand expressed his thanks to the management of the Qatari company Retaj for its kind invitation to the mission to attend the signing ceremony, He wished the two sides success in their cooperation to the benefit of them and bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Thailand.

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani also pointed out that the bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and Kingdom of Thailand are developing well and remarkably, especially during the past few years, calling on the Qatari private sector companies to benefit from the advantages offered by the kingdom of Thailand to investors in all fields.

HE the Ambassador added that the Qatari Embassy, which is also accredited in neighboring Laos is ready to facilitate all difficulties for Qatari investors wishing to invest in East Asian countries In accordance with wise directives of the government of the State of Qatar, he praised the steps taken by Retaj Group as a successful start in investment in Halal tourism in those areas that require this kind of hospitality desired by Arabs and tourists in general.

From his side, Dr. Johar expressed his thanks for the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its support to the projects of the Group abroad, and thanked the Ambassador HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and all the staff of the Qatari Embassy in Thailand for their participation in the signing ceremony and the hospitality they have extended to the delegation of the Retaj Group in Thailand.

Commenting on this strategic partnership, Dr. Mohamed bin Johar Al Mohamed said that the group aims through its global expansions to contribute to the leadership of the state of Qatar and to support Qatar’s goals towards strong global presence and the diversification of its foreign investment. as well as its keenness being a 100% Qatari group to spread the culture of genuine Arabian hospitality around the world.

Dr. Johar added that “Retaj has established the brand ’Retaj Hotels’, the first and only Qatari Hotel brand operating inside and outside Qatar and has succeeded in spreading in many countries in Asia, Africa and Europe “. and that the Far East countries of Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and China) are among the most important tourist destinations in the world and the most popular among Southeast Asian countries Where tourism in these countries has many potentials that makes them a distinctive tourist attraction, as all of them have a charming nature of sand beaches and world-famous islands, which made them a favorite tourist destination for Arab tourists, in addition to being a pioneers medical and business destinations.

He also pointed out that, the strategic partnership with Taj Hana in Thailand represents the core of a great start, which will have a good impact in the exchange of experiences between our group and Taj Hana, noting that Retaj Hotels and Hospitality is seeking to expand its portfolio globally driven by Qatar National Vision 2030 ,especially after the company’s success in Turkey, Comoros, Saudi Arabia, Sudan etc., providing an innovative concept of luxury hotel services and the highest standards of quality to its customers. And that Retaj also plays a leading role through the “Retaj Academy” for training in the field of hospitality and hotels, where we seek to train and spread the culture of Arabian hospitality throughout the world, he added.
He said that safety factors especially for families are available in Thailand and spread of tourism service offices everywhere have made it a major hub in Asia for all those who wish to enjoy the hospitality.

Dr. Johar concluded by mentioning that “our presence in East Asia will be in line with the vision and aspirations of Retaj Group seeking more global footprint worldwide.”

Mr. Luqman Nani, The Director General of Taj Group said that tourism industry is a top priority of the Thai government which it has become clear in the recent years through its great support and facilitations. He pointed out that medical tourism is most important sector in Thailand as it has gained a global reputation to become a major pillar of the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Thailand.

He added that Taj Group started as a health and treatment center combining traditional medicine with authentic Thai treatment which is being offered by the group in Phuket Island where its planned to expand locally and internationally in the future.

He said Taj signed the strategic partnership with Retaj Hotels and Hospitality Group which enjoys great reputation in the Arab world with aim of spreading the traditional Thai medical culture.

Mr. Luqman explained that the partnership includes provision of 2000 hotel rooms to be managed by Retaj Hotels and Hospitality in Thailand in addition to 3000 hotel rooms in East Asia including China, Japan and South Korea to provide Halal tourism in those regions.
